What is a Deep Neck Lift?
A neck lift, or lower rhytidectomy, is more extensive than a traditional neck lift. It is designed to improve physical signs of aging in the jawline and neck. The surgery involves trimming loose, sagging skin and tightening and repairing the main neck muscles, called the platysma muscles. Fat lying below the neck muscle is also directly trimmed or removed, which can not be removed by liposuction alone.
Enlarged digastric muscles, which add bulk under the jaw, are reshaped, and the size of the submandibular glands is reduced, resulting in a beautifully smooth “U” shape for your neck and facial profile.
