What is Pec Augmentation with Fat Transfer?
Pec augmentation with fat transfer, also called fat grafting or pec sculpting, is a surgical procedure that uses your own body fat to add volume and shape to the pectoralis muscles (pecs). The fat is typically harvested from the abdomen or flanks, allowing patients to achieve body-contouring goals while also addressing their pec goals.
To harvest fat, tiny incisions are made in the flank or abdomen to allow a cannula to suction out the fat, a procedure known as liposuction. The fat is purified in a centrifuge and injected into incisions in and around the pectoral muscles to add volume and correct asymmetries. Ultrasound guidance is sometimes added to enhance precision and safety.
