What is a Deep Plane Facelift?
A deep plane facelift is a highly advanced surgical procedure designed to restore youthful facial contours in patients with significant physical signs of facial aging. This technique primarily addresses sagging in the midface, lower face, and neck while also improving jowling, wrinkles, and lost facial volume.
The procedure involves accessing the deeper facial tissues and ligaments beneath the SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) layer, creating structural changes rather than just tightening the skin. During the procedure, the skin and underlying muscle are lifted as a single, unified block. The retaining ligaments that anchor the tissue are released, which allows the deeper structures to be lifted back to their youthful position.
Many of our Washington, DC, patients look 10-15 years younger after their final results.
